Items that are listed as Sterling silver are legally required to be hallmarked if weighing over 7.78grams.
These will have the Full Traditional Hallmark from the London Assay Office.
Often I will get lighter items hallmarked as I believe it can add to the story of a special piece of jewellery.
The materials I use are sustainably sourced wherever possible. I often use found (seaglass, pebbles, rope etc.) or second hand items mixed with recycled silver.
I never knowingly use animal derivatives - in production/manufacture, finishing/packaging.
Packaging is carefully sourced from recycled, renewable and degradable resources; also avoiding plastic wherever possible.
Silver items tend to retain their sparkle when worn regularly.
In an ideal world I would take off my silver jewellery whenever bathing/cleaning/swimming/washing up/applying perfume or makeup - (actually don't do too much of the latter two!) and this would keep it less affected by soap/chlorine/salt water/body oils/harsh chemicals etc.
I occasionally get busy with a silver cloth to return my silver adornments to a shine.
Brass items tarnish more quickly but can be made to shine again using a proprietary metal polish.
Oxidised pieces are made to have a patina. It is a naturally occurring process sometimes intentionally accelerated to incorporate a different look to my designs. It can change over time and wear off or darken. This is part of its charm. Please contact me if you'd like your item re-oxidised.
Soon to launch on Etsy and then develop this website to an online store.
